Looking for something other than beach and sun, Jungle Fish is the chance to experience a different side of Bali.
Jungle Fish, a stylish Mediterranean restaurant at Chapung SeBali Resort & Spa in Keliki – Ubud, where lush green valleys and mystical rivers create a tropical paradise, has gained fame among visitors and locals. This open-air, split-level restaurant is perched on the side of a mountain overlooking the Osh River Valley. Jungle Fish’s name comes from a wall made from recycled glass whose mosaic design resembles shimmering fish scales.
I started with the King Prawn Kebabs and Grilled Octopus for the starters. The fresh King Prawn Kebabs were served with tomato ginger pate and Sichuan pepper, while the generous-sized grilled octopus was served with fresh lemongrass dressing. For the main course, we had a large mixed grill meat platter for two consisting of pork, beef and chicken with fried potatoes and vegetables, all organic and cooked without MSG. It is truly a meat lover’s paradise.
For the second main course, we had a seafood platter of prawns, salmon and squids. There is also an interesting selection of mocktails, cocktails and wines. I had a refreshing passion fruit and tangerine mojito cocktail and a Classic Jungle Green mocktail consisting of kale, parsley, cucumber, green apple, lime and ginger.
After we finished our delicious meals and drinks, we headed to the lower level of the restaurant where the bar, deck and swimming pool are located. With great ideas and ambition, and the pool at Jungle Fish is the perfect spot to channel their energy, splashing around while drinking in the lush views of the green valleys.
