Stylishly standing in the heart of Bangkok, in the most prestigious area in town, Hansar Bangkok offers a jaw-dropping design and heartfelt service that raises bar for luxury boutique hotels in the area.
It is not hard to find Hansar Bangkok, its sleek, modern look setting it apart from its neighbours. First arrived at the venue, I was captivating by the hotel’s vertical wall of green creepers which rising five stories high, giving the Hansar a relaxed and serene feeling. Later I learned, that not only beautiful but it helps cool the building and works as a natural oxygen filter that absorbs CO2 from the Bangkok traffic. Every element at Hansar Bangkok has been carefully planned so there is no wasted energy. All the corridor zones of the hotel are open-air and cooled naturally through the circulation of natural air, so there is no need for air-conditioning. Condensing water from the air-conditioning units in the indoor area is used to heat the water in the hotel, and the vertical green walls and green spaces are irrigated using recycled water. The design of the Hansar is not only beautiful but functional as well.
Hansar Bangkok has 94 spacious rooms. I was staying in the Vertigo Suite, a spacious palace with a living room, bedroom and bathroom. The suite is calm and warm, with Thai accents, a large sofa, tea table, flat-screen TV, DVD player and a work desk. Floor-to-ceiling bookcases are filled with books and contemporary artefacts. The bedroom features a large king-size bed surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows. If you sleep with the curtain opens, you can drift off to the twinkling lights of Bangkok’s magnificent skyline.
The bathroom is amazing, with a terrazzo bathtub in the centre of the room, his and her washbasins and a rainshower with glass walls and doors with city views. There are also floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Bangkok and the bathroom can be accessed from both the living room and the bedroom using two tall sliding doors. I loved the sleek and clean contemporary urban look.
Hansar Bangkok is home to four unique restaurants that offer unforgettable culinary experiences. See and be seen at Vue, the hotel’s lobby bar. This convenient venue is an ideal spot for your morning coffee and a light bite to start your day, or a casual business meeting with clients. Café Boca offers an extensive menu for casual lunches, a quick snack and bites-to-go, including gourmet sandwiches, panini, salads and quiches that you can grab for an afternoon of adventure or for a relaxing meal in the shade of the patio with your friends and colleagues. The always-innovative dishes use freshly sourced ingredients, and the elegant and sophisticated ambience will make your meal an unforgettable culinary journey.
