Offering plenty of family bonding activities, InterContinental Kuala Lumpur is the perfect destination for a family weekend escape.
InterContinental Kuala Lumpur has 473 stylishly designed guestrooms, from Deluxe, Premier and Grand Premier, to Club InterContinental and Suites, nestled in the 30-storey building. I stayed in one of the Grand Premier Rooms, which are said to be the biggest rooms in the city. Each room is equipped with the latest technology, including an iPod docking station and flat-screen TV, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows and a large bathroom. Rooms feature warm and relaxing tones, giving it a sense of elegance and cosiness at the same time.
I had a fantastic night’s sleep, thanks to the super comfortable king-size bed. Natural light streams into the room through the tall windows, and the bathroom is separated from the bedroom by a glass wall; you can choose whether to close the curtain or keep it open. The staff members are very attentive and eager to make sure everything is just so.
InterContinental Kuala Lumpur has a selection of international restaurants. Enjoy a traditional Japanese menu at Tatsu, or savour the mouth-watering Chinese cuisine at Tao. All-day dining restaurant Serena Brasserie offers an exquisite buffet of international dishes, Japanese specialties and all-time local favourites. OneSixFive is set amidst a tropical garden and cascading waterfall, as you relax by the pool drinking in the views of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline accompanied by innovative cocktails. Bentley’s Pub is the spot for those seeking a traditional English-style watering hole, with various beers on tap, wine by the glass and cocktails served up in a casual environment.
I had a very relaxing time at Sompoton Spa. I opted for a rejuvenating 45-minute Purifying treatment. It started with good foot cleansing using crystal salt and traditional herbs, followed by a 30-minute traditional massage using special “muscle-easing” oil to relieve the fatigue and aches and pains. I was impressed by the skilful technique of the masseur. After that they applied a special moisturizer to my body to keep it hydrated. It was a truly relaxing experience.
