Le Meridien Bangkok

Nestled in one of the prime commercial areas in Bangkok, Le Meridien Bangkok offers a perfect home amidst the energetic and lively streets of Silom district.

Le Meridien Bangkok, located near Patpong Night Market and Hua Lamphong Temple, stands out from its surroundings in terms of design and service. A stylish guy silhouette on the floor-to-ceiling glass lobby door greeted me as I entered this modern-looking hotel. Yes, this is my home away from home for the next two days.

With 282 guestrooms and suites, Le Meridien Bangkok is a chic haven for travellers who want to experience the vibrant energy of Bangkok. I was staying in the subtle yet stylish Vista Executive Room, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of surrounding district. There was a king-size bed, marble bathroom with bathtub and separate rain shower, and a refined refreshment centre. The bathroom is furnished with sliding doors to separate the oversized bathtub from the main room. Whether working or relaxing, the room offers plenty of comfort with a workspace and ergonomic chair, a sofa that seats three, in-room digital system for multiple laptop applications, a touchscreen IP phone, broadband and wi-fi internet access, and an LCD flat-screen TV. In addition to the Vista Executive Room, there is the Vista Plus Room, Circular Room, Avantec Suite, Avantgarde Suite and Grande Avantgarde Suite.

Le Meridien Bangkok offers a choice of restaurants and bars for every palate. Bamboo Chic Bar is a contemporary lounge that offers a variety of snacks and sandwiches. There is also a large selection of signature cocktails, wines and spirits to be explored. Latest Recipe is an all-day dining restaurant offering a selection of recipes from Le Meridien hotels from around the world. This is also the setting for breakfast each day. Guests can meet over coffee throughout the day until late at night at Latitude 13, enjoying signature chocolate drinks, along with an enticing choice of freshly baked pastries and cakes. Plunge is an outdoor bar by the pool and is the place for a casual lunch or a leisurely snack.

The entire sixth floor of the hotel is dedicated to fitness and wellness. The seven circular treatment rooms at the SPA represent the global meridian from which the brand derives its name. The treatments and therapies are based on achieving total purification, restoring natural energy and harmony between body and mind. Meanwhile, the floor-to-ceiling window panels at the well-equipped fitness centre reveal extended city views as you work up a sweat. The outdoor swimming pool is located adjacent to the fitness centre and the sounds of upbeat music invite you to splash around or just relax against a backdrop of Bangkok’s skyscrapers. Within a short walk of the hotel is the sense-stimulating Patpong Road with its crammed night market and neon-lit bars during the evening. During the day, the area transforms into a business district, with the nearby Pratumwanaram and Hua Long temples offering a refuge for the senses. There are sky train and subway stations close by for quick transport to the many attractions of the city.
