Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort

Bali has earned its reputation for beautiful beaches, friendly people and great shopping. Embracing these three elements is Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort, strategically located in Bali’s most happening area of Kuta and Legian. This splendid resort is a perfect venue for those who want to experience Bali at its best.

I have weak spot for two things when travelling: pretty beaches and sunsets. So it is no surprise that I fell in love with Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort. Located less than a minute’s walk from the beach, the Sheraton Kuta offers dramatic views of the Indian Ocean and famous Kuta Beach sunsets.

Guests at the Sheraton Kuta have plenty of ways to enjoy the sunset. My first day at the resort, I drank in the sunset from a daybed in The Lounge on the fourth floor while enjoying a glass of white wine. As the sun dipped into the ocean, I noticed a group of people in the pool also enjoying the sunset, accompanied by live traditional Balinese music and cocktails from Bene restaurant. The second day, I enjoyed the sunset from Bene’s rooftop deck, a glass of sweet red sangria in my hand.

The Sheraton Kuta is a 5-star resort that is warm and elegant without being pretentious. As I entered the lobby, I was greeted by two beautiful Balinese dancers and a huge vertical wall pouring water into the lotus pond below. Hanging from the ceiling on the upper floor are triangle-shaped wooden ornaments inspired by traditional jukung Balinese boats.

The spacious rooms of the Sheraton Kuta are elegant and modern, with large beds that are the epitome of comfort. My room also had a work desk, couch and balcony. The large bathroom had a bathtub, separate shower, large closet and massive mirror. Glass walls separate the bathroom from the bedroom and you can leave them open or close the curtain for privacy. There are 203 guestrooms and suites at Sheraton Kuta, each with private balcony and the latest in technology.

There are three dining venues at the Sheraton Kuta. The Lounge is an open-air concept bar that is a perfect place to grab a drink and snack while enjoying the views of the pool and the beach. This is also where the Sheraton Social Hour is held every week, with guests getting the chance to taste wines from around the world while enjoying the sunset. The Lounge also hosts the monthly Kuta Lazy Afternoon Tea. Bene restaurant offers a romantic setting and traditional Italian cuisine using only the freshest, most authentic ingredients. Chef Rossano Renzelli brings his unique skills to every element of the restaurant, from the cold towels in jars to the plates he designed himself.

But my favourite restaurant is Feast. This all-day dining restaurant offers a wide selection of international dishes served buffet style. I was lucky enough to experience the first-ever Kuta Sunday Market Brunch at Feast. This unique brunch presents a world of delicious foods and drinks, and guests also get the chance to buy food themselves. That is why it’s called market brunch. There are so many mouth-watering selections, from grilled jumbo prawns and pork ribs to oxtail soup, authentic noodles, Balinese babi guling and so much more. Free-flow Champagne or wine is available for a really special brunch. Guests with children will be pleased to know that there is a kids’ area in the middle of the restaurant with attentive staff on hand to keep the little ones entertained.
