The Balé

The Balé is a serene, luxurious retreat where you can relax and revitalize, simply enjoying the best in life.

Despite its decidedly Balinese name, there is little that is overtly Balinese about this resort, apart from the authentic thatched roofing on its villas. Created from Palimanan sandstone and designed in a minimalist modern style, The Balé stands poised on the hillside like a post-modern castle with geometric architecture.

Walk up its vast sweeping steps, past endless bleached limestone and a central cascading waterfall, and you’re in a modern, minimalist palace. The view through the central court and down the endless stairway is dramatic, with small rivulets flowing adjacent to the walkways and stairs towards the white-capped waves of the Indian Ocean. In a setting of elegant and classic simplicity, The Balé is privacy and comfort defined.

Upon receiving your booking confirmation, your will receive a personal care sheet so the experts at The Balé can learn about your personal preferences, such as: fruits, music, movies, cookies and more. This allows each stay to be custom-made for your complete comfort. From the moment you arrive, you will be pampered in the unique Balé way. The 24-hour butler service will cater to your every need, ensuring that you have the most relaxing holiday possible.

Each villa is enclosed within its own compound and equipped with a bale bengong (king-size daybed) under a pillared veranda, where you can enjoy lazy afternoons by a private pool that flows gently over the edge into a hidden tier below, blending beautifully with the lush greenery of the outdoor garden.

The villas are Zen havens with modernist touches, where less is more. Interiors are sleek and simple, making good use of the plentiful natural light. Solid furnishings of brown wood mix with multi-pillowed sofa lounges, large windows and, in the middle of it all, a stark white king-size bed raised up on a polished stone platform. To the back of the villas, a generously proportioned en-suite bathroom features a romantic sunken bath shaped for two and a choice of indoor and outdoor showers. Walk into the bathroom and you could find yourself drifting down into your own infinity swimming pool.

You can never go hungry staying at Faces Restaurant, this gourmet restaurant by the main poolside, features an open kitchen and gently awakens guests with inviting smells of freshly baked goodies and brewed coffee for breakfast and offering high quality seafood and light cuisine for lunch and dinner. Or dine in at Tapa Bistro, The bistro serves international and local cuisine. The tapas system at TAPA is very flexible. You can chose small portions of different dishes, each the size of a small restaurant starter. Alternatively you can also indulge in romantic dinner in the privacy of your own villa. And while you are on honeymoon why not have a bit of pampering at the Spa where you can choose from a selection of treatments provided.

The Balé is a serene and luxurious retreat, and staying at this resort feels like you are in a world of your own. Spend time in the privacy of the villa, enjoy the garden, take the occasional dip in the pool or simply relax with a book in the comfortable daybed. Life is beautiful and peaceful at The Balé and you will be transported to a state of relaxation and renewal.
