The Santai

The Santai offers something very different from the big hotels and resorts, giving treasured guests a truly peaceful and individual Balinese experience. They feel like this is their very own villa in Bali.

Known for their unique hospitality approach, Singapore-based boutique hotel/resort Lifestyle Retreats have opened their latest venture, The Santai, in Bali. Located in the sought-after Umalas area, 15 minutes from the heart of Seminyak and 35 minutes from the airport, the secluded gateway promises time to relax and recharge.

The Santai comprises 11 private and beautifully designed villas, including 5 two-bedroom (350 square metres) and 6 three-bedroom (550 square metres) villas. Each of these sanctuaries features a refreshing concept for a private holiday far from the hustle and bustle of the city. Bedrooms include a king-sized bed with high ceiling and sleek wood floors. The spacious living area and fully fitted kitchen showcase stylish minimalist design, and the outdoor pool is nothing less than perfect for the lazy days ahead. Villas also contain indoor and outdoor showers, complimentary Wi-Fi, 24-hour butler service and the latest entertainment amenities, making this the perfect choice for a sumptuous getaway with family and friends.

Studio TonTon, the team behind The Santai’s look, had a special design in mind. By combining traditional Balinese style and materials with cool, sleek and modern Asian architecture, they managed to deliver an astounding conception. To heighten the Balinese experience, glimpses of beautiful stone walkways run past the blue pool and planted green walls are placed accordingly. The design also allows natural light to enliven the ambiance of the villas, with their uniquely designed roofs topped with leaning towers.

Sitting behind a vast sloping roof, GONG Restaurant serves a mouth-watering selection of signature dishes from around Asia and other parts of the world with a daily choice of specials, such as authentic Balinese chargrilled asparagus and slow-braised ribs in tamarind and soy. Open daily from 7am to 11pm, GONG’s menu features sharing platters for friends and family to enjoy together. Don’t forget to check out GONG’s selection of wines, cigars and signature cocktails available for guests whether they are dining in GONG or in the comfort of their own villa.

Bali is known as a leisure destination, and spa is part of the ultimate leisure experience for most people. The peaceful ambiance within the resort walls will help guests relax and focus in choosing their preferred treatment among the comprehensive selection available in the privacy of each villa. They can also take part in massage class or simply talk further with the well trained therapists about each different type of massage, oil and techniques. This experience is not only enjoyable but can also enrich knowledge of the guests regarding Balinese spa and wellness.
