A chic new cocktail bar designed by Michael S. Smith opens at The Lowell to compliment recently opened Majorelle restaurant and hotel Club Room as part of a $25 million redevelopment of the hotel’s public spaces. Manhattan’s newest bar serving a mix of classic and specialty cocktails with a Moroccan twist is set to become the Upper East Side hotspot for drinks and light bites. Drinks can be paired with delicious snacks including hamburgers and frites, caviar on blinis and oysters, ideal for those looking to indulge after a day strolling Central Park or hitting the shops of Fifth Avenue.
The bar menu at Jacques encompasses a taste of Marrakech, with signature cocktails including Marrakesh Express, Tito’s Vodka, Orange Blossom Water, Verbena as well as French influences, thanks to Charles Masson at Majorelle. These include Bleu de Majorelle, Bombay Sapphire Gin, Jus de Myrtilles, St. Germain and French 75, Tanqueray Gin, Lemon, Cremant d’Alsace.
A delicious selection of decadent bar snacks has been designed to accompany the drinks. These include a Trio of Salmon; smoked, raw and gravlax with the option to pair with chilled vodka or petit champagne, Plateau de Charcuteries; chicken liver mousse, saucisson sec, bresaola, prosciutto and speck and Croquettes aux Pois Chiches; chick pea and eggplant croquettes.
