John Hardy Launches New Collection

Luxury artisan jewelry brand John Hardy was pleased to present the first collection under new Creative Director Hollie Bonneville Barden at the John Hardy Bali workshop in boutique, where timeless jewelry is skillfully handmade by local artisans.

Elemental force meets elegant form in this re-interpretation the brand’s legendary icon, Naga, inspired by the raw power and strength of nature. This celebration of the power of creation and Naga as a symbol of nature formed the overarching concept for the season.

The brand’s workshop in Bali is experiencing volcanic activity from Mount Agung, one of the points of reference and inspiration for Hollie’s Naga collection, so it was only fitting that the evening transformed into a fundraiser.

The evening’s collective fashion show, inspired by the elements, highlighted John Hardy’s Fall 2017 collection set against a BIASA wardrobe. BIASA wrapped and draped models in an array of cool white artisan cut selections of kaftans, dresses and comfortable linen resort ware, like exotic birds, amongst rivers and jungle trees. Midnight black silk dresses trailed and floated across the cathedral like Kapal Bamboo, a floating boutique made of giant bamboo arches, lifting the audience as they watched. Free and spirited fiery red and burnt orange skirts mixed with layers of silver and gold John Hardy jewelry made a for the finale.

A potent symbol of nature—and its sacred dance of fire, water, air, and earth—the universal Naga spirit conjures creation through transformation. Locavore tastefully interpreted Hollies inspiration of WATER, AIR, and FIRE in a display of local delicacies, emulating the creative spirit and storied craftsmanship of John Hardy into full sensory experience.

The collaborative event aligned with local makers, thinkers and seekers, all mentioned in The LUXE City Guides Bali, raising $11,200 on the night for a local non government agency KOPERNIK who are providing emergency relief to the thousands of evacuees living in temporary camps in Bali.

John Hardy matched the auctioned items on the night dollar for dollar.
