Around-the-World Festive Afternoon Tea by Farah Quinn

Welcoming the holiday season, Peacock Lounge at Fairmont Jakarta collaborates with celebrity chef Farah Quinn in creating a special festive afternoon tea set for guests to enjoy during the festive season from 6 December 2017 to 5 January 2018.

The Around-The-World Festive Afternoon Tea by Farah Quinn is inspired by her passion in pastry and her most favorite delicacies that she encountered during her traveling experiences to places around the world. Farah works together with Fairmont Jakarta pastry chef, Farid, to prepare the special festive season afternoon tea edition.

Inspired by her years of traveling to many places and countries, her selections come from various destinations around the world, including her own hometown of Bengkulu in Sumatra.

A total of sixteen mouth-watering mini delights will be served in the afternoon tea set. The creations include the New Zealand Pavlova, and The South American Alfajores. She also includes the traditional Thanksgiving treats of Sweet Potato Pie, a Japanese Green Tea and Ogura Roll Cake, South African Malva Pudding with Vanilla Sauce; Mandarin Orange Chocolate Cake, Georgian Honey-layered Cake called Medovik – a honey cake with crumble biscuit base and sour cream, and her traditional hometown cake from Bengkulu – a pineapple pie called Kue Bay Tat. She also adds Mexico’s traditional snacks of Churros with Chocolate Dipping Sauce to sweeten the set.

On the savory side, Farah works with Fairmont Jakarta Executive Chef Edi Pancamala and creates Salmon Cake with Horseradish Cream, Berliner Duck with Thai Curry Sauce, French Foie Gras Cromesquis, and her Christmas must-have item, Turkey Vol au Vent with Fresh Herbs.

Opening the top drawer, guests will find Peacock Lounge’s fruit tartlets with fresh fruits. The second drawer showcases Farah’s picks of her all-time favorite sandwiches, such as the American Grilled Cheese, Italian Caprese Salad with Balsamic Caviar, Cured Beef on French Baguette and Figs Jam, as well as the Boston Lobster Roll with Squid Ink Brioche.

An afternoon tea is not complete without warm homemade scones. During the holiday season, Peacock Lounge serves two types of scones – Pumpkin Scones with Honey Cinnamon Butter and Ricotta Lemon Scones with Raspberry Compote and Chantilly Cream.

The Around-The-World Festive Afternoon Tea by Farah Quinn is available at Peacock Lounge from 6 December 2017 to 5 January 2018, daily from 1 to 5 PM, priced at IDR 588,000++/ set that includes two cups of eggnog with gingerbread cookies as the welcome drink. The set also includes two cups of fresh-brewed coffee or premium tea selection to complement the afternoon tea experience.
