5 Hideaway Hotels Around The World

Hideaway escapes are all about the perfect hotel. We present Top 5 hideaway hotels where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the world.

1. Amankora, Bhutan
Amankora is a series of lodges across the central and western valleys of Bhutan. The sole surviving Himalayan Buddhist kingdom, Bhutan is located between the Tibetan plateau and India, making it one of the most remote and pristine environments on earth. Amankora has five nature-linked lodges nestled along a path of edifying momentum uncovering the richness of a pristine cultural and biogenetic evolution, deeply entrenched in the spectacular Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan. The journey begins and ends at Paro, manifesting in a circular pilgrimage of enchanting spiritual reward. Descending from 7,000-metre-high peaks in the north to the low-lying plains of the south, Bhutan’s rivers have forged deep valleys separated by high mountain passes. Historically isolated, each valley’s scenic beauty and topography affords visitors an opportunity for unique journeys of discovery. Activities include trekking, a spiritual enriching experience at Wangditse Lhakhang temple, Bhutan’s national sport, archery, fishing and rafting.

4. Giraffe Manor, Kenya
Have you seen “We Bought a Zoo,” a movie based on the true story of a father of two who buys a dilapidated zoo? Who knew living side by side with wild animals could be so fun? You just have to say hello to giraffe. I’m talking about Giraffe Manor, located on the outskirts of Nairobi, on 12 acres of private land within 140 acres of indigenous forest. The building itself is truly iconic and dates back to the 1930s, and is reminiscent of the early days of Europeans in East Africa. The highlight is morning and evening greetings from eight resident Rothschild giraffes, which tend to visit the manor to greet guests and sniff out snacks before venturing out into their sanctuary. How exciting to see a giraffe so close, face-to-face, not terrifying at all.

Somewhere in the Indian Ocean a heart-stopping experience awaits you in the underwater room at The Manta Resort. The floating structure, Swedish engineered, provides three levels, those above the water clad in local hardwood. The landing deck at sea level has a lounge and bathroom facility. Up on the roof is a lounge area, where you can sit and relax while enjoying the sun or admiring the starlight. Just you, asleep under the stars, with the soft murmuring of the sea. So peaceful.
