Mr. Peter Stettler, General Manager of Grand Hyatt Jakarta is pleased to announce the appointment of our new Executive Chef, Rolf Knecht.
Swiss-born Chef Rolf Knecht brings with him 19 years of culinary experience, starting his career in 1994 as an apprentice in the Suvretta House, in St. Moritz, Switzerland, where he stayed for three years. Rolf left Europe for North America stepping up to Sous Chef in 2001 at The Shaw Conference Centre Alberta, Canada and then as Banquet Sous Chef in an international chain hotel where he successfully executed a State Dinner held by the Premier of Alberta for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
In July 2006, Chef Rolf moved to China to start his career with Hyatt as Executive Sous Chef in Grand Hyatt Shanghai. September 2009 saw a move to Japan and a new position as Executive Chef of Grand Hyatt Fukuoka.
In his new post, Chef Rolf will be responsible for all seven restaurants, Room Service and the Events Kitchen.
